Executive Protection Systems (EPS) donates WMD Preparedness Products to Local Public Safety Officials

Winchester, VA (January 9, 2004)—EPS believes in taking a “proactive” rather then “reactive” approach when it comes to disaster planning. And that’s exactly why executives from the Winchester-based business donated over $17,000 worth of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) preparedness products and training to local law enforcement and fire officials representing the Clarke, Gainesboro, Middletown and Winchester areas.

“We’re not only local business owners; we’re citizens of this area. And we want our localities to be prepared in the event of a disaster,” said Michael Guevremont, senior vice president of EPS. “We’re currently at a high terrorist alert level, and whether or not that will continue remains to be seen. What makes sense is to pool resources now, and EPS is a community resource.”

According to Guevremont, EPS partnered with Survivair, a California-based manufacturer of WMD preparedness products, in order to offer a substantial donation to various public safety officials. “In addition to training services, the donations range from escape hoods, cases and gloves for both adults and children. And the importance of these items can make the difference between life and death. The hoods protect your respiratory system in the event of a chemical, biological or radiological incident, while the gloves are chemical resistant,” he added.

“We’re in a location where if anything were to happen to the D.C. metropolitan area, the masses would certainly head west, in our direction. That’s why we would like to continue to extend our services and products to other outside agencies. Safety wise, we’re all in a position where we can’t afford not to think about these things and use our resources,” said Guevremont.

Executive Protection Systems, headquartered in Winchester, Virginia, is a small, service-disabled veteran-owned business dedicated to providing the finest WMD, industrial safety protective equipment, training and consulting services nationwide.
