Elected President of the Greenwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company
Winchester, VA (March 1, 2007)—Executive Protection Systems (EPS), a leading turnkey provider of emergency preparedness solutions, equipment and training, announces that one of its own, Dan Cunningham, was recently elected President of the Greenwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company.
Dan Cunningham, EPS’s Vice-President of Operations and certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), has been involved with the Greenwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue since he joined as a junior member at the age of 16.
“I’ve been a member of the Company since 1977. In November 1980, I joined the Army and became an Honorary Member. After I retired from the Army in 2003, I became an active member again,” said Cunningham.
According to Cunningham, a Winchester native, being a contributing member of Greenwood Fire & Rescue is in his blood. “My dad, Walt Cunningham, was the Chief of Greenwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue for ten years between the 70s and 80s,” explained Cunningham. “Being elected to this position is not only an honor, for me personally, it’s a way for me to continue the level of community service started by my dad.”
As the elected president, Cunningham is responsible for administrative operations of the company, except the emergency operations. The administrative functions include preside at all meetings, appoint committees to carry out the purpose of the company, oversee the performance of said committees and assist will all committee functions.
