Executive Protection Systems (EPS) Strengthens its Federal Government & Detection Technologies Sales Division with Birnbaum as Director of Business Development
Winchester, VA (June 16, 2006)—Executive Protection Systems (EPS), a leading turnkey provider of emergency preparedness solutions, equipment and training, recently announced the appointment of Matt Birnbaum, as its Director of Business Development.
Birnbaum joins EPS with over 12 years of sales, business development and strategic planning experience. In his previous position with Smith’s Detection of Pine Brook, New Jersey, Birnbaum was responsible for all business development related to critical infrastructure protection for the United States Federal Government and the management of four Federal sales managers with yearly revenues in excess of $35 million. During his tenure with Smith’s, he was also responsible for selling all products within the company’s technology portfolio including Ion Mobility Spectrometry, Infrared Spectroscopy, Dual Energy X-ray Inspection and Polymerase Chain Reaction for the detection of explosives, narcotics, chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals, biological agents and pathogens.

Birnbaum is a graduate of Arizona State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation Biology.
